Our Tibet Overland Tour with EBC on the Tibetan Side is an amazing and remarkable achievement of a lifetime for travel lovers who loves exploring new places with different vibes and explore the world. It is a glorious and solemn moment as you stand at the foot of the world’s summit, to admire the unparalleled beauty and holiness that you get simply defying human description.
Unlike the southern base camp in Nepal, the Tibet Everest Base Camp (5,200m) in northern side is more accessible and relatively easy to reach. Hence, even if you are unable to trek for couple of weeks with physically demanding trails in Nepal, the trail from Tibet is there as an alternative for you. Choosing the most popular route from Lhasa, you will not only get yourself a relaxing overland journey to Everest Base Camp, but also embrace the essence of Tibet has to offer, from splendid Buddhist monasteries to fabulous lakes and mountain vistas.
Note
According to the latest government regulation, the Everest Base Camp has been relocated to near Rongbuk Monastery to protect the eco-system of the Mount Everest region. However, your EBC tour experience will not be compromised at all as the view of Everest from Rongbuk (5154m) is still amazing.
Overview
The tour starts with a scenic drive to Rasuwa from Kathmandu, which is also the border between Tibet and Nepal. Then the very next day, you will drive towards Kyirung Thil and our Drive in Fly out Tibet overland tour kicks off. Upon arrival in Lhasa you will get time to acclimatized and refresh in your hotel. Then after exploring surrounding places of interests and moving ahead towards Oldtingri. The next day you will drive towards Everest Base Camp on Tibet Side after breakfast from Oldtingri. You can have eye-dazzling sights of Mt. Everest, Mt. Cho Oyu and Mt. Sighastshe from the base camp.
Afterwards, you will be moving ahead towards Lhasa and visiting places like Jokhang Temple, Barkhor market, Potala Palace, Sera and Drepung monasteries. Don’t forget to buy a souvenir to take back home in the Lhasa Streets. The tour includes sightseeing in Gyantse including Jokhang Temple, Barkhor market, Potala Palace, Sera and Drepung monasteries which is followed by 1.5 hours drive to Shigatshe in the evening through the typical Tibetan countryside.
