This is the third trek I've done with Nepal Mountain Trekkers and it was absolutely incredible, as always. Everyone at the trekking company is organized, friendly, and professional. Suman organized the trip for me and was my guide. He's the absolute best. Not only did he figure out how we could do a 7 day trek in 4 days, he also was great company during the trek! He's so knowledgeable about all of the treks and mountains in Nepal. He's easy going and fun to be around!

Before we arrived in Nepal i already oriented on what we would want and didnt want in a trek. I wrote down some companies to visit when in Kathmandu but then i met Suman ( his trekking company was at the the hotel where we stayed and not on my initial list) and I took a leap of trust and didnt look further : i let him arrange our trek. And am i glad i did:

‘We’ are are a mother and her ten year old son, so we had specific wishes (‘low and slow’) and we needed a guide and a porter with a lot of patience.

Suman listened well to our wishes , went to work and teamed us up with a guide which couldnt have been better for us: TB is friendly, professional, safety oriented . I am a physician myself and i found his level of preparedness impressive.

I think his greatest asset however was psychological: he sees exactly what each person needs (or doesnt need).

We took a 16 day trek, first Tamang , then Lantang. In all those days i not once saw TB impatient, and he kept looking out for our welfare. He didnt push when that would be the easy thing to do, but he checked what would be the best for us. He stepped into some guesthouses kitchen to help them out if that would mean a step up in hygiene. He adjusted the itinerary seamlessly when it became clear that my slow really meant slow. He put a new meaning to the word relaxed when we were to say ‘a bit quirky’. He coached my ten year old from a complete non-sporty to a more self reliant pre teen. He waited when we lagged. He even laughed at our silly jokes.

We could not have gotten a better guide for our trek and i would highly, highly recommend TB for your trek.

We had a great porter Mingmar who hauled our bag , filled our bottles, checked the rooms to make sure we didnt forget ( we sound a bit like complete morons now, mingmar was so super service minded not to mention speedy: he often brought our bag to the next point and then came back to see if he needed to do something else to make our trekking life easier)

All-in-all the team of Nepal Mountain Trekkers took us under their wings, and took extremely good care of us, while we were having a complete blast. This team is highly recommended.

Stayed in Nepal for 6 weeks trecking the EBC and the Langtang Valley. Everything was organised perfectly with great daily planning, I was never worried about anything. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to trek in Nepal.

Fascinating 9 day trek - Langtang Valley region north of Kathmandu, near Tibetan border

Just completed this somewhat challenging trek as a first-time trekker at age 61! Wanted to explore the Langtang region with my husband and adult son - supported by Ramesh, the owner of the trekking company and 2 porters who became our very good friends, managed it without too many hiccups.
It does not reach areas as high as some of the better known treks but as parts of this region were decimated by the 2015 earthquake, the pathways have been rebuilt with many stone steps which are also thoroughfares for ponies and donkeys carrying building and food supplies to the higher regions so the steps get knocked around a bit making for some challenging walking. A fascinating area with culture heavily influenced by the Tibetan immigrants over several centuries.
The care and concern shown by Ramesh and his team are phenomenal, starting with the planning which begins weeks before with applications for trekking permits etc taken care of. He equips us with all the gear we might possibly need. Being February it has the potential to snow (and does).
In a 4WD vehicle to our kick-off point, Ramesh ensures we by-pass traffic jams and the town accommodation is great. Once trekking commences he patiently guides us at our own pace, and ensures the nighttime accommodation in tea-houses is comfortable and meals are good. He closely monitors the health of his charges - when I get a bad headache at the highest altitude, I don't realise till afterwards how closely he is observing me for signs of altitude sickness; were I to show any symptoms he would insist we went back down to a lower tea-house.
Ramesh and the porters are fun to be with - we have lots of laughs and lots of interesting discussions about local history and culture and they are interested to hear about Australia.
The trek is geared around our capabilities - it is flexible - can be lengthened or shortened to suit.
Ramesh has many other trekking routes - all over Nepal - varying from a few days to months. I fancy the month-long 'Rhododendron Kingdom' trek next - a mixture of teahouses and camping - camping is the real way to do trekking he tells me!

I went on a trek with my parents, who are over 60, to the Langtang Valley. We were taken with our guide and hotel owner and now friend, Ramesh, who was amazing in organising it and catering it to our needs. It was a stunning time, and the friends we made were an absolute highlight - including our two porters, Amar and Pralad, who were just the best guys to be spending this time with. I highly recommend going on a trek with these guys, it's so well organised, and Ramesh can cater for whatever your needs are - in our case, the distance we were travelling each day was a bit too much for my parents, and our days were shortened accordingly, and Ramesh was happy to do so. He certainly made me feel like one of the boys, enjoying some chang rice beer with local families once we'd reached the highest point of the trek, which I might add is so worth the trek. It is a stunning place, nestled in between the snowy mountains, with options to do some day walks from there to some of the peaks - which I highly recommend! There was a lot of laughs along the way - it was actually turned into just a hilarious and fulfilling time because of our guide and porters, and I wouldn't hesitate to go with them again!
